Really interesting. I knew of shockley for the transistor and knew of US eugenics, but did not know they were intertwined or that in the US, it was that openly discussed after the "closing" of the Eugenics Record Office.
Edwin Black has written about this, but I see a big gap: there's those that know about it in the past and those that know it's being 10x'd right now, but it feels like my wife and I are the only ones to know that it's a continuum.
I’m always amazed how those who garner some level of “elite” status (particularly social elites) are given credibility with very little analysis —-as if many presume they’ve done their homework/research— but when digging deeper we can often get to that “….really?…oh.” Moment
